About SEMS

  1. Under the Clean Air Conservation Act and other related laws, Stack Emission Management System (SEMS) collects and manages the data of Class 1 to 3 places of business that emit air pollutants, including business information and their operational status.
  2. NAIR determines which data are input to SEMS by conducting data verification, and the chosen data are used as raw data to estimate national air pollutant emissions and establish various kinds of environmental policies.

To Whom?
  • Under Article 17 of the Clean Air Conservation Act, SEMS is to investigate emissions from places of business that get permission or report on pollutant‑emitting facilities.
 
How to Investigate?
  • Class 1 to 3 places of business: It is mandatory to input required data of pollutant‑emitting or pollution control facilities into SEMS on a daily or monthly basis.
  • Class 4 and 5 places of business: NAIR carries out nvestigations on emissions from all class 4 and 5 places of business every year.
 
What to Investigate?
  • SEMS data consists of business information, operational data, self‑measured data, and activity data.
